Rich Man Adventures

Mon 1/19- I had swimming lessons in the morning. It is Martin Luther King Jr. day. For dinner I made pizza with my friend and sister. Tues 1/20- Today I had piano lessons. I practiced my handwriting, then I helped my mom clean the house to prepare for her book club in the evening. They read "Theo of Golden" by Allen Levi and she's obsessed with it. I also did my math lesson 46 on Fahrenheit and Celsius.  Wed 1/21- I had my last day of swimming lessons level 4. I passed and get to move up to level 5! For math I did a review assignment. For Language Arts we read the poem "Rain" by Elizabeth Coatsworth. and found the simile: "The rain was like a little mouse." I made my own simile, "the rain was like an angry kid." Today we did something fun, I got to teach my mom how to play a game on Roblox called "Work at a Pizza Place." She thinks it is really hard and I think it is funny to watch her try to play. Mon - Today I had swim lessons. Our teacher was late, but one of the office ladies tried to help. I did my math lesson 43 on Graphs. For Language Arts we did lesson 23 Climate, and did a map activity.  Tues - Piano lessons today! I'm doing really well! I did my math lesson 44 on fact families. I read two chapters of The Lost Library out loud with my mom. Wed - Today I did art with some friends. We practiced drawing hearts and making Valentines. I also drew a pizza with a face on the back of mine! Then we went to Ninja Kids with the homeschool group. It was really fun. For Language Arts we read a poem called "Out in the Fields with God" by Elizabeth Barrett Browning and talked about personification. Then we did some sentence diagramming and editing practice. Thurs - I worked on the new Jewel art we got! It's really big, but I love doing it! It is a picture of a fox. I also did my math lesson 45 about symmetry. Monday 5th - Today I had swim lessons! I love it! For math I did lesson 38: Comparing Fractions. Language Arts we learned about Mexico and homophones. Tuesday 6th - We had piano lessons, then I did Math lesson 39: Associative Property. Then I play with some Sculpey dough to strengthen my finger muscles, and we baked the dough so it stays the same. I also used a stencil to draw a flame. I also did a writing assignment where I summarized the book my dad and I just finished, Rangers Apprentice Book 2: The Burning Bridge. In the evening we went to a wedding reception and I got to see some of my second cousins. (I did my very best handwriting) Wednesday 7th - This morning I had swim lessons, then I did Math Lesson 40: Order of Operations. For art I was supposed to try and follow instructions to draw a volcano, but I didn't feel like doing that, but did make some cool colorful hatch marks. I read a chapter of "The Lost Library". Happy New Year! These last two weeks have been busy and fun! We had our older sister visit from college for a week, did some family shopping, visited Luminaria at the Ashton gardens, celebrated both my mom's birthday and my older brothers. For my brother's birthday we took pictures of ourselves with swords, then had AI make it look like we lived in the midevil times.  We celebrated Christmas at our home, then went to Cedar City to celebrate with grandparents and cousins. I liked playing with my new laser tag with my cousins at the elementary school. When we got home, I got together with all the boys from my neighborhood and we made cookies and played tag. For new years we watched an interesting movie called "The Arrival" about aliens who come to teach us a language tool to help us see into the future, it was pretty weird, but cool.
